BOSE!

Q. Can I add a subwoofer? (BOSE question)
A.
Again, this is not a great idea, not a suggestion, only an observation. A sales-oriented car stereo shop (versus repair-oriented) will try it because they want to make the sale, but adding subwoofer to the system will throw off the balance and tonal quality. The subwoofer sound will most likely not be proportionate to the Bose speakers. The sound quality may or may not be enhanced -- certainly not evenly at all volume level. Although we have seen subwoofers added to the Bose system, this procedure is up for debate. We have observed two different hook ups. One, the audio tap taken directly from the output behind the stereo, (see our wire harness identification charts) and second, a Hi-Low level adapter (manufactured by PAC with level adjustments), with the audio tap taken directly from the rear speaker terminals . Please do not use the Hi-Low level built into the amp you are installing, you may cause the Bose amplifier to be over worked and burnt.
